About Hurstead House

Our residents don't live in our workplace. We work in their home.

Hurstead House CareHome is registered to accommodate 30 residents. We provide residential care to older people. The home was first opened in 1966 and has been a strong part of the Rochdale community ever since. We have tried to keep to the traditions of the home, but added a modern edge to it. The house itself is large and spacious and we have made sure to keep a homely feel to it.

Our Facilities

The home has 18 single bedrooms, and 6 double bedrooms. The home has 9 rooms within-suite facilities, as well as number of bathrooms/shower rooms. We also have number of toilets spread throughout the home. We are in process of developing Premium Rooms for Private Residents with additional facilities to meet their additional demands. The home is always striving to keep its facilities to the highest standard possible, so we are always looking to improve the quality & appearance of our building. We have a handy man on site for any day-to-day maintenance which may need doing.

Our bedrooms are individually furnished and decorated according to any needs or preferences our residents have. All rooms are fitted with specialist equipment to make sure our residents can contact the care team at any time. With a choice of upstairs or downstairs, En-suite, single or double room, our residents have a wide range of rooms to choose from. All our bedrooms have top of the range profiling beds. We also have deluxe styled bedrooms. With a more spacious room design, high speed Wi-Fi and a few other home comforts, our deluxe bedrooms are perfect for any resident who wishes to make their stay with us a little more comfortable. We have 2 large lounges, with a dining room and quiet areas as well.

We have a small sitting area outside, perfect for anyone who wishes to get a bit of fresh air.

We have in house salon, giving all our residents the salon experience.

We have outside services who come to our home; these include opticians, dentists, chiropodist & hairdressers.

Entertainment

At Hurstead House Care Home we take having fun very seriously! We know that we cannot recreate our resident’s old homes, however we try our very best to provide them with everything they need to make them feel a little bit more at home.

We believe our residents deserve to live fun, exciting lives. We provide numerous different activities for all of our residents. We have an activity coordinator on duty every day. We know that all of our residents are unique, so our activities coordinator spends one-to-one time with all of our residents learning what their interests and hobbies are. Whether they prefer doing a crossword or playing bingo, we make sure they can do what they enjoy. We have space for group activities, quiet rooms for those who wish for a bit of peace & quiet and can also arrange for trips out of the home. In the communal areas we have to large TV’s and a projector available, we even have a Nintendo Wii available for any residents who wish to try something a bit different. On weekends we have a local singer, choirs or other groups come in to perform for our residents.

We also have kitchen staff preparing home cooked food every day. Our chefs personally ask for any preferences/allergies when cooking, creating a personalised feel to each of their meals. We have cleaners on daily, maintaining our high standard of cleanliness and keeping our home fresh.

We are always striving to improve our team; we regularly take part in new training to ensure we always have up to date techniques when taking care of our residents.
